As a Business Analyst – Disaster Recovery with Everblue, you will lead the implementation and configuration of a new disaster recovery software solution developed by Everblue’s software team for a state agency client. You will gather, analyze, and document requirements to support the development and continuous improvement of disaster recovery and business continuity plans that ensure rapid recovery from natural disasters, cyber incidents, or other emergencies. Your expertise will help ensure that the agency’s systems, processes, and people are fully prepared to respond effectively when disruptions occur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business, technical, and regulatory requirements for disaster recovery and continuity of operations.
- Lead and support the setup, configuration, and initial deployment of a disaster recovery software solution for the agency.
- Conduct business impact analyses, risk assessments, and process mapping to identify critical systems and activities.
- Analyze, document, and recommend improvements to existing disaster recovery processes for enhanced efficiency and compliance.
- Develop and periodically review disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including plan documentation, scenario testing, and response workflows.
- Coordinate and assist with disaster recovery testing, drills, and exercises; analyze results and update plans accordingly.
- Support change management and facilitate user acceptance testing for new or upgraded disaster recovery systems.
- Work across departments (IT, facilities, operations, vendors) to integrate disaster recovery solutions and ensure readiness.
- Develop reports and presentations for management, identifying risks, gaps, and actionable recommendations.
- Assist in compliance audits, regulatory reporting, and other documentation as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, emergency management, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a business analyst or in a similar role, with direct disaster recovery, business continuity, or risk management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience setting up and supporting software solutions in business or technical environments.
- Capability to conduct business impact and gap analysis, and process documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient with business analysis and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Visio, JIRA, Confluence).
- Knowledge of disaster recovery standards, regulations, and methodologies (NIST, ISO, FEMA, CBCP certification a plus).
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and respond to emergencies.
